The Energy Efficient Demonstration Home has incorporated a studio space next to the home with a green roof.
The benefits of green roofs is they are able to soak up more water in extreme weather events, as they act like a sponge soaking up water and then releasing it slowly once they are saturated, they help to keep the outside of the home cooler during hot weather and they contribute to biodiversity.
This green roof has a range of flowering plants that attract the birds and bees (see plant layout below).
